Barenaked Ladies in Prospect Park

Well yesterday my wife surprised me with tickets to go see Barenaked Ladies in Prospect Park, Brooklyn.  The billing also had Guster from "amsterdam" fame and Ben Folds Five.

We had dinner at a nice local place and got in as they were setting up for Ben Folds.  He did a great job with some of the oldies and finished up with "give me my money back" and threw out a black tee-shirt for good measure at the end.  He had a phenomenal bass player- Robert Sledge.

As for BnL, I was a little bit let down by the show, they did some of the oldies-but-goodies Ed Robertson did good renditions of "Pinch Me", they invited a small band's singer to do "Yoko-Ono" that was funny, and a good rendition of "had a million dollars".

I though the highlight of the show was using a reference from Stephen Hawking at Comic Com about the "Big Bang" and going into the theme for that show, then transition to "One Week" using a deep sonic bass from the electronic keyboard I though was better than how its usually played.

Tyler Stuart came out from the drums to do some funny renditions of popular dance songs today

Really missed Steven Page's vocals, needs to do a reunion tour with them.....
